Results Birdability Walk 9/21/19

Greetings and happy fall! Yes, it was 100 degrees yesterday, but it IS FALL! We had yellow warblers to prove it!

Saturday was lovely. A nice breeze blew, skies were clear, and one of my favorite parks was not flooded! Five of us covered about 2.5 miles, and came home with 28 bird species. Usuals reminded us why we love them: Carolina wren and Carolina chickadee, titmouse hybrids, eastern bluebirds, northern cardinals, blue jays, eastern phoebes, white-eyed vireo, downy and red-bellied woodpeckers, cattle, snowy and great egrets, and others. Best birds were yellow warblers, summer tanagers, and one very statuesque crested caracara.

The next Birdability walk is on Saturday, Oct. 19 at Lake Creek Trailhead at Braes Valley. Meet at 8:00. If you have binoculars, bring them. I will have lots of loaners if you need them. If you are brand new to birding, GREAT! I hope to see you soon. Please do not hesitate to call or text me at 512-461-6920 or email me at info@birdability.com. Thanks!
